DNV BMS Ghana JV Ltd. is a Ghana-based joint venture between DNV AS and Benmarine Offshore Services Limited, established to deliver specialized technical assurance, marine services, and engineering support to Ghana’s offshore energy and maritime sectors. The company combines DNV’s global expertise in classification, certification, and risk management with Benmarine’s strong local operational experience and knowledge of Ghana’s maritime environment.
The joint venture was established in 2018 and launched in 2019 to strengthen local technical capacity while ensuring that offshore and maritime projects in Ghana are executed in line with internationally recognized safety, quality, and risk management standards. Through this partnership, DNV BMS Ghana JV Ltd. supports clients across the full lifecycle of offshore and marine operations from project planning and engineering through construction, marine operations, and operational assurance.
Operating from Ghana, the company provides services including marine warranty surveys, technical inspection and verification, risk and safety advisory, dynamic positioning support, construction monitoring, project quality assurance, and marine operations consultancy. These services support offshore oil and gas operators, engineering contractors, developers, and maritime stakeholders operating in Ghana and across the wider West African region.
Benmarine Offshore Services Limited, founded in 2009, is a Ghanaian maritime services and consultancy firm with extensive experience in offshore logistics, marine transportation, vessel support services, and marine technical consultancy. Through the joint venture, Benmarine contributes valuable local knowledge, operational capability, and industry relationships that strengthen the delivery of services within Ghana’s offshore and maritime sectors.
DNV BMS Ghana JV Ltd. also maintains an active collaboration with the Regional Maritime University (RMU) aimed at strengthening maritime research, technical training, and industry development in Ghana. This collaboration includes an ongoing partnership focused on research into the local development and production of welding electrodes that meet international standards. The initiative seeks to support local manufacturing capability, reduce reliance on imported consumables, and advance technical innovation within Ghana’s maritime and offshore industries.
