Italian Navy LSS ship fire, La Spezia
Italian Navy LSS (Logistics Support Ship) VULCANO caught fire at night Jul 22 at around 2200 LT, at Fincantieri Ship Yard, La Spezia, Italy. The ship is under construction, she’s to be commissioned next year. No injuries reported. Fire seems to be major, it was taken under control only by 0630 CEST time Jul 23, with deployment of several engines and tugs with water cannons. Superstructure and midship sections were reportedly, affected by fire. Extent of damages unknown.
